The upcoming Chainsmoker Cat<\/em> TV anime<\/a> has received a key visual featuring the titular cat girl and several other beastfolk, app<\/a>arently having a gathering in an alley. It was also revealed that it will begin airing on July 2 at 24:30 JST (effectively July 3 at 00:30 AM JST).<\/span><\/p>\n

Chainsmoker Cat<\/em>\u00a0(Yanineko<\/em>) is based on the manga by Nyan Nyan Factory <\/strong>and follows a disastrous chainsmoking catgirl. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the manga\u2019s synopsis as such:<\/span><\/p>\n

Where there\u2019s\u00a0smoke, there\u2019s a catgirl chainsmoking in this comedy manga! A look at the daily troubles of one catgirl and her attempts to get her life together.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Welcome to Yani\u2019s apartment. Please don\u2019t mind the smell. Yani is a catgirl with a seriously bad smoking habit. Every time she tries to quit, she becomes weak to the cravings and gives in almost instantly.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Behind on her rent and unable to hold down a job, her friends and sister rally around to help her out. But when she\u2019s using her pee to put out cigarette fires, they may just have their work cut out for them.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Will she ever get her life together, or is she doomed to live as a chainsmoking slob forever?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Studio Lemon\u2019s Taku Kimura<\/strong>\u00a0(Dragonite and the Special Delivery<\/em>) is directing the anime at\u00a0Bibury Animation Studios<\/strong> with Takashi Aoshima<\/strong> (The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You<\/em> series<\/a> composer) as scriptwriter, Riki Matsuura<\/strong>\u00a0(Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc<\/em>\u00a0Devil designer) as character designer and\u00a0Keiichi Suzuki<\/strong> as music composer. Yuko Natsuyoshi\u00a0<\/strong>is the voice of Yani.<\/span><\/p>\n

The manga started serialization in Kodansha\u2019s seinen manga publication Young Magazine in 2023 and has 11 volumes as of February 2026. It was originally a Twitter<\/a> comic.<\/span><\/p>\n
