         <\/p>\n<p>\n            The Wichita-raised, Los Angeles-based pop star is sitting on the floor of her boyfriend\u2019s bedroom, bathed in sunlight. Despite the anxiety-ridden, strobe-lit pop music she\u2019s been releasing, she\u2019s hardly a vision of angst in our conversation. She tells stories with hand-waving enthusiasm and sits all the way up when she reaches a point.\n          <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-279301\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>\n            In the past six months, Day has quickly transformed into underground pop\u2019s ubiquitous new star. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@tiffdidwhat\/video\/7608474897316072734\">Clips<\/a> of her <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@tiffdidwhat\/video\/7598235604022873375\">performing<\/a> have become embedded into the algorithm and view counts are rising \u2014 as is the discourse. Online, some commentators <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/piskooooo\/status\/2023960097546735889\">compare<\/a> her to another Gen Z pop star: 2hollis, who also writes heartfelt pop songs in a language of 808s, side-chained synths, and vocal distortion.\n          <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>\n            \u201cI love Hollis\u2019s music,\u201d she says. \u201c[But] for people to call me a \u2018trend hopper\u2019 is pretty unfair. I grew up listening to EDM and attending raves. I was yearning for a way to bring that world to the pop realm of Tiffany Day. She is uniquely able to articulate the ache and euphoria of coming into adulthood, and she\u2019s remarkably adept at crafting brain tingling melodies. All of that is on display in her new album <i><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/4T7qu6MdxoGjzZPErRWgsO\">HALO<\/a><\/i> (released April 3 via Broke Records), the beginning of what is clearly a mainstream breakthrough.\n          <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content_block paragraph triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; She first went viral in 2017 when she was still in high school, after a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/QRyisAsQEtY\">video of her singing<\/a> \u201cHallelujah\u201d into a reverb-ey well in Spoleto, Italy, while on a school <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a> with her choir took off on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a>. \u201cThe freaking Ellen show was hitting me up,\u201d she recalls. She had a devoted fan base and toured, but the daily grind and fallow economics of independent artistry was a lot for a young girl who had aspirations of studying biomedical engineering before a music career fell on her lap. \u201cEvery day I thought about if I had chosen a different life, if I had worked a 9-to-5 with a steady routine and paycheck,\u201d she remembers.\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            Her \u201clast straw\u201d h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened on a beach in San Francisco in 2025, when she admitted to a friend that music no longer brought her joy. She worked alongside her producers \u2014 Jeff Melvin, Niles Forester, and Jack Hallenbeck \u2014 but didn\u2019t hesitate to \u201cdo rather than explain\u201d her ideas. \u201cIt was a continuous journey of feeling like I didn&#8217;t have the skills to [produce],\u201d she says. \u201cOne day, I was just like, \u2018I don\u2019t need to keep telling myself that narrative.\u2019 I just sent it.\u201d\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            Whereas her music prior to <i>HALO<\/i> had a <i>trying-this-out<\/i> quality, the songs of her current era boast clear pop logic. Alongside the new sound, she adopted a more clearly defined look, part-skater, part-princess, and very online: slouching low-rise pants, an askew cap, over-ear headphones, and layers of colors and prints. She sparked some online attention via a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@ontheradarradio\/video\/7607971374652558623\">viral On The Radar interview,<\/a> where she performed with a big pink plushie backpack. \u201cI just didn&#8217;t want to lose myself when I moved into this [darker electronic] niche,\u201d Day says. \u201cI&#8217;m naturally a happy, fun person. Performing with my plushie backpack felt so real and so genuinely me. But after she decided to treat her roll out like a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a>, she told herself that if she posted 30 days in a row consistently, she could buy herself a Dyson Air Wrap. \u201c\u200b\u200bI started making these edits that became their own piece of art,\u201d she says. When the month was over, she had an extra 50,000 followers on TikTok and had signed a record deal with Broke Records.\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            Despite her success, Day says she still struggles with the conflicting desires to express herself and hide from the spotlight, like she did when she was a teenager.
