She&#8217;s leaning into a rock sound on the project, but still promises to do it in her own way. &#8220;What\u2019s interesting for me is to bend the possibilities of what my perspective on [Rock] could be,&#8221; she says.\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            A surprise for longtime fans, Snapes reports, is the album&#8217;s noted lack of Auto-Tune, a staple of Charli&#8217;s vocal processing. One, reportedly about the difficulty of forging identity through fashion and consumerism, features &#8220;queasy feedback warps,&#8221; with Charli&#8217;s vocal performance described as a &#8220;dead-eyed incantation.&#8221;\n          <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>\n            Another song, recounting a party at a Paris &#8220;philosopher girl&#8217;s&#8221; party features the refrain: &#8220;\u201cNothing\u2019s gonna last forever \/ And no one\u2019s gonna last forever.&#8221; Snapes share the refrain is quite clearly a reference to the wild success of <i>BRAT<\/i>, and the ensuing sense of overwhelm it wrought.
