A new memorial visual for the Rascal Does Not Dream of A Dear Friend<\/em> anime<\/a> film has been revealed. This week\u2019s visual presents lead heroine Mai Sakurajima, dressed in the bunny girl outfit from the Rascal Does Not Dream<\/em> series<\/a>\u2019 beginning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rascal Does Not Dream of A Dear Friend\u00a0<\/em>will debut in Japanese theaters on October 16. The\u00a0<\/em>movie\u00a0shares its title with the original light novel series\u2019 15th and final main volume, which Yen Press describes as such:<\/span><\/p>\n

As the truth about Miori and Touko Kirishima comes to light, Sakuta must make a choice that will decide everything\u2026for him\u2026for Mai\u2026for Shouko\u2026for Miori\u2026and for Touko. The\u00a0Rascal Does Not Dream\u00a0<\/em>(Seishun Butayaro<\/em>) series\u2019 general<\/a> premise sees protagonist Sakuta Azusagawa getting involved with people with supernatural problems, beginning with his high school senior Mai and her invisibility issue. The KADOKAWA-published light novels, which come from The Pet Girl of Sakurasou\u00a0<\/i>duo of\u00a0Hajime Kamoshida\u00a0<\/strong>(writer) and\u00a0Keji Mizoguchi\u00a0<\/strong>(illustrator), began in 2014. The anime adaptations started with a 2018 TV series, titled Rascal Does Not Dream\u00a0<\/em>of Bunny Girl Senpai\u00a0<\/em>like the first light novel volume, and also consists of a 2019 movie, two 2023 films, and the Summer 2025 anime season\u2019s Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The light novel series is published under KADOKAWA\u2019s Dengeki Bunko label\/imprint. While the main story has concluded, a second short story collection will be released on October 9, 2026 in Japan. Some of the main stories have inspired manga adaptations.<\/span><\/p>\n
