The Japanese Star Wars X\/Twitter<\/a> account has unveiled an illustration for the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu<\/em> movie, drawn by Attack on Titan<\/em>\u2018s Hajime Isayama<\/strong>. While it\u2019s not a wild crossover-type drawing where you get to see the titular characters taking on Titans with blasters and the Force, it tries to evoke the Scout Regiment\u2019s ODM movement by having The Mandalorian moving in the air with his fibercord whip.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Star Wars franchise has previously inspired a number of manga<\/a> titles, including adaptations of the original three films (Isayama says his first exposure to Star Wars was watching these films in reverse order during an Idaho homestay) and the far more recent Star Wars: <\/em>The Mandalorian<\/em> manga. The latter has an upcoming fifth volume, which has been reported to be written by Francesco Matteuzzi and Jacopo Silvestre and drawn by Cristian Polizzi instead of retaining the previous writer and artist Yusuke Osawa<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Star Wars also ventured into anime with the first and third seasons of Star Wars: Visions<\/em>, an anthology of animated shorts featuring output by various studios and teams, and the Zen \u2013 Grogu and Dust Bunnies <\/i>short from Studio Ghibli<\/strong>.\u00a0Some of the stories from the first season were adapted for a manga anthology<\/a> (Osawa and Witch Hat Atelier<\/em>\u2018s Kamome Shirahama<\/strong> were among the contributing artists), and a spin-off series<\/a> based on \u201cThe Ninth Jedi\u201d short is in the works.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There was also a collaboration visual between the BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War\u00a0<\/em>anime and the Andor <\/em>series, a prequel to the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story\u00a0<\/i>movie.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Mandalorian and Grogu\u00a0<\/em>is a follow-up to The Mandalorian\u00a0<\/em>series, which is set between the original Star Wars trilogy and the sequel trilogy and follows the adventures of the titular bounty hunter as he becomes an adoptive father to a Force-sensitive alien child. The movie will debut in US and Japanese theaters on May 22.<\/span><\/p>\n
