\n Meghan Markle has been cold-calling Americans to urge them to vote in November, famed feminist Gloria Steinem has revealed.<\/p>\n

Steinem said the Duchess of Sussex recently moved to Los Angeles with her royal husband, Britain\u2019s Prince Harry, and their young son, Archie, so she could participate in November\u2019s presidential election \u2014 and has been active both in front of and behind the cameras to help elect Democrat Joe Biden and his vice presidential running mate, Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Markle] came home to vote,\u2019\u2019 Steinem told TV\u2019s \u201cAccess Hollywood\u2019\u2019<\/a> in an online video posted Sunday, noting that the pair have met up at the women\u2019s rights leader\u2019s house.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the first thing we did, and why she came to see me, was we sat at the dining room table here, where I am right now, and cold-called voters. And said, \u2018Hello, I\u2019m Meg,\u2019 and, \u2018Hello, I\u2019m Gloria,\u2019 and, \u2018Are you going to vote?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was her initiative,\u2019\u2019 Steinem said.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is such an inspiration to me.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cAccess\u2019\u2019 host Suri Hall laughed and quipped after the Markle voting anecdote, \u201cIf [people] weren\u2019t [hitting the polls] before, I bet you they were after that call.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

In August, Markle told Steinem that she was especially happ<\/a>y about the Democratic ticket because Harris is biracial, as she is.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so excited to see that kind of representation,\u2019\u2019 Markle, a former TV \u201cSuits\u2019\u2019 star, said in a videotaped chat on the Instagram page<\/a> of the feminist empowerment group MAKERS Women.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, for me, being biracial, growing up, whether it was a doll or a person in office, you need to see someone who looks like you in some capacity,\u2019\u2019 Markle said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
