Tristan Thompson<\/strong> is back in the headlines, and this time it\u2019s not about his love life drama or<\/em> his basketball prowess.<\/p>\n

No, this time around, the NBA<\/strong> vet is making a serious and deeply personal legal move that\u2019s turning heads for very different reasons.<\/p>\n

According to newly surfaced court documents first obtained and reported on by TMZ<\/em> on Tuesday, Tristan is seeking to step up his role in a major way when it comes to his younger brother, Amari Thompson<\/strong>. That\u2019s right: in the docs, the athlete has reportedly filed to place Amari, who is disabled, under a conservatorship.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t just a casual legal tweak, either. Tristan is asking for full authority over some of the most important aspects of his brother\u2019s life, including access to records, the ability to make medical decisions, and even control over educational matters.<\/p>\n

And it doesn\u2019t stop there. Tristan is also requesting the power to oversee Amari\u2019s social<\/a> and sexual interactions, claiming it\u2019s necessary to protect him \u2014 which also underscores just how seriously the basketball star is taking his responsibilities.<\/p>\n

This all comes after a heartbreaking chapter for the family. As we have of course reported, their mother Andrea Brooks <\/strong>passed away in January 2023, leaving Tristan to take on a caretaker role for Amari. Since then, he\u2019s been the primary person looking out for his brother\u2019s well-being, while his ex\u00a0Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian<\/strong> has also been extremely supportive.<\/p>\n

As for their father, Trevor Thompson<\/strong>, Tristan claims he\u2019s been absent for years. In the filing, he alleges Trevor hasn\u2019t supported Amari financially and hasn\u2019t even been in contact since 2014.<\/p>\n
