\n\tMichael Montemayor, the rising screenwriter with a growing social media<\/a> following, has signed with CAA.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe signing comes in the wake of Montemayor selling Court Date<\/em>, an original feature pitch, to Netflix, earlier in April. Berlanti\/Schechter Films, the feature banner run by prolific TV mavens Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter,\u00a0is producing.<\/p>\n

\n\tMontemayor is currently working on Disney\u2019s live-action remake of Tangled<\/em>, which Michael Gracey is directing and is due to go into production later this spring. Previously, he wrote Stepsisters<\/em>, a live-action re-imagining of Cinderella<\/em> focused on her two step-siblings, which attracted Akiva Schaffer as a director.<\/p>\n

\n\tMontemayor began his career as a writer\u2019s assistant to Dana Fox, the veteran rom-com scribe who most recently penned the\u00a0Wicked<\/em>\u00a0movies<\/a>, while she worked on\u00a0Cruella<\/em>\u00a0for Disney and\u00a0The Lost City<\/em>\u00a0for Paramount.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to his film work, the scribe produces social content that has amassed over 40 million views across platforms, with a voice that is focused on celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continues to be repped by Kaplan\/Perrone, Kim Stenton at Myman Greenspan and BK PR.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
