<i>N0rth4evr<\/i>, the debut EP of pre-teen r<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>er-producer\/blue-haired nepo princess North West, was always going to be polished. When the 12-year-old announced she\u2019d partnered with Larry Jackson\u2019s gamma for her February single \u201cPIERCING ON MY HAND,\u201d it was clear that the long-standing SoundCloud underground superfan was going to have all the studio time she wanted.\n          <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>\n            What was less certain was whether that music would feel distinct, or simply mimic her older peers. But on <i>N0rth4evr<\/i>, North hones her own style of rage rap that pushes past inspiration to carve out her own niche.\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            That\u2019s most apparent on title track \u201c#N0rth4evr,\u201d a blistering blast of straight up nu-metal that dissolves into a grandiose, Travis Scott-esque breakdown. \u201cEverywhere I go feelin&#8217; like the wrong way,\u201d North warbles through the din. \u201cI can&#8217;t even act my age, gotta call plays.\u201d The closest comparisons would be \u201cFlashout Freestyle\u201d by slayr or the punk-rage synthesis of ezcodylee, but only partially \u2013 North\u2019s Autotuned headvoice is mixed in a ghostly fashion, as if she\u2019s haunting her own EP.\n          <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-279986\" class=\"content_block paragraph embed triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"media_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"\">\n    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"North West - #N0rth4evr (Official Music Video)\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/k0agRRNjFc4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-279984\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>\n            At a high level, this is the core appeal of <i>N0rth4evr<\/i>: not style over substance, but style <i>as<\/i> substance. Consider the Hatsune Miku-sampling closer \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Rc3wn8NF3kw?si=tKLCCMNgQTzNXnX1\">Aishite (\u611b\u3057\u3066)<\/a>,\u201d where North opens up about the isolation of fame-at-birth (if only a little). \u201cThey ain\u2019t using me again,\u201d she sighs on the drumless hook. \u201cCan\u2019t be no one\u2019s friend, I can\u2019t let nobody in.\u201d By no means baring her soul, but amidst a cacophony of bludgeoning 808s, a line like, \u201cain\u2019t nobody finna save me,\u201d sounds as though she\u2019s on the precipice of a pained howl.\n          <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>\n            North doesn\u2019t shy away from the spoils of her parentage \u2013 riding in Lamborghinis, rocking Chrome Hearts and Balenciaga, being globally recognizable. It\u2019s to her credit that <i>N0rth4evr<\/i> rarely feels like it\u2019s relying on these riches to shore up her artistic persona. Rather, North would prefer to brag about having cool piercings and being a nocturnal studio rat. But what really makes that \u201cgood\u201d or \u201cbad?\u201d What people really can\u2019t stand is a nepo baby who <i>sucks<\/i>, a person who gets handed opportunities and fails to deliver. On <i>N0rth4evr<\/i>, West leans on every resource available, from expensive samples (like <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Social<\/a> Repose, \u201cCaramelldansen,\u201d and Meg &amp; Dia) to a team of engineers and studio guitarists, in an effort to deliver 12 minutes of fine-tuned pandemonium. You could cynically interpret those assets as an ostentatious display of privilege, but it scans more like North West trying to use every tool at her disposal in service of worldbuilding.\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            And these samples help to punch up the weight of her pre-teen emotions, which might be the biggest <i>advantage<\/i> a younger artist can have over their more jaded industry-mates. Just think back to how big and dramatic everything felt in middle school, and how the music that meant the most to you at that time in your life probably still stirs up latent emotions. It\u2019s genuinely cool to see any artist document that in their work \u2013 it\u2019s what I love about the sampling ethos of Girl Talk, or skaiwater\u2019s <i>pink print<\/i> <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> \u2013 and North West refuses to skate by on cheatcode samples, mutating her source material into something darker and more feral.
