Britney Spears<\/strong> won\u2019t be facing any jail time!<\/p>\n

Following her March arrest, the pop star was charged with DUI last week. But on Monday, her lawyer was in court in Ventura County on her behalf, where he secured a great plea deal for her!<\/p>\n

According to TMZ<\/em> reports, Britney\u2019s DUI charge was dropped by a judge after she reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. In doing so, she agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge of \u201cwet reckless,\u201d or reckless driving involving alcohol and\/or drugs.<\/p>\n

As part of the plea deal, the Criminal<\/em> singer will be placed on a 12-month summary probation, during which time she cannot possess drugs without a valid prescript<\/a>ion. (AKA, no more alleged trip<\/a>s to Mexico for Adderall!) If she violates any conditions during her probation, she could be sentenced to jail time, so she better be on her best behavior.<\/p>\n

She was also sentenced to one day in jail, but she was given credit for time served in custody. She will have to complete a three-month DUI program and pay a $571 fine, per People<\/em>. Her vehicle is also authorized to be searched for drugs and alcohol. Lastly, the mother of two agreed to see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month.<\/p>\n

Brit Brit\u2019s lawyer, Michael Goldstein<\/strong>, told TMZ<\/em> the 44-year-old, who just got out of rehab, understands where she went wrong in the past and is eager to change:<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct. She has taken significant steps to implement positive change which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney\u2019s decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI. Britney appreciates this discretion and is also grateful for the outpouring of support she has received.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
