Written by <\/span>Towa<\/b> and illustrated by <\/span>Huka Kazabana<\/b>, <\/span>The World\u2019s Strongest Rearguard<\/span><\/i> is a fantasy light novel series that was originally published as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in April 2017 before being published under Kadokawa Books as a light novel series in November 2017. As of May 2026, nine light novels were published. The series inspired a manga<\/a> adaptation by<\/span> Rikizo<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Yen Press has licensed and is publishing both the manga and light novel series in English. They describe the synopsis of the first volume as:<\/span><\/p>\n

Corporate slave Arihito Atobe\u2019s death in a freak bus accident marks the beginning of his new life as a kind of adventurer called a Seeker.
