\n\tOscar season may be over, but London is in awards mode again on Sunday thanks to the BAFTA TV Awards. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe\u00a02026\u00a0BAFTA\u00a0TV honors are being handed out at the Southbank Centre\u2019s Royal Festival Hall\u00a0in the British capital. Netflix\u00a0drama\u00a0Adolescence<\/em> led the nominations with 11, followed by Disney+\u2019s\u00a0A Thousand Blows\u00a0<\/em>with seven. Comedia<\/a>n and\u00a0Taskmaster<\/em>\u00a0host\u00a0Greg Davies\u00a0is hosting the awards ceremony.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAdolescence<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Celebrity Traitors<\/em>\u00a0were the biggest winners of the recent\u00a0BAFTA\u00a0Television Craft Awards, with each show receiving two prizes. Other honors went to Slow Horses<\/em>, Andor<\/em>, Amadeus, Reunion<\/em>,\u00a0Trespasses<\/em>,\u00a0The Celebrity Traitors<\/em>,\u00a0The Last Musician of Auschwitz<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Mussolini: Son of the Century<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tSunday\u2019s ceremony comes a month after BAFTA apologized \u201cunreservedly\u201d for the controversy surrounding John Davidson\u2019s Tourette\u2019s Syndrome outbursts at this year\u2019s BAFTA Film Awards ceremony, following an independent review that found \u201ca number of structural weaknesses in BAFTA\u2019s planning, escalation procedures and crisis coordination arrangements.\u201d In particular, the review highlighted that BAFTA \u201cdid not fully app<\/a>reciate the nature of the risk associated with a live broadcast appearance, early warning signs were not escalated, and the absence of a clear operational command structure limited BAFTA\u2019s ability to respond effectively once the incident occurred.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOutgoing BAFTA chair Sara Putt, in her opening remarks, wished a happy 100th birthday to David Attenborough, which he celebrated on Friday, and said that \u201cTV isn\u2019t going anywhere\u201d but will endure despite disruption and challenges.<\/p>\n

\n\tDavies quipped in the opening monologue that \u201ca quick AI search\u201d showed him that TV started when Attenborough \u201cfirst hugged a monkey.\u201d He also welcomed such nominees as Colin Firth, mentioning how attractive his aunt finds him, Ashley Walters and Stephen Graham and the whole team behind Adolescence<\/em>. <\/p>\n
