Anime<\/a> Central 2026 announced that this year\u2019s theme<\/a> is called \u201cACEN the Musical.\u201d The event will take place from May 15 to May 17 at the Hyatt Regency O\u2019Hare and Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois and will feature special programs, guest appearances, and live concerts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fitting the theme, JPop artist, <\/span>FictionJunction<\/b>, and Japanese voice actresses<\/span> Asami Imai, Akiko Hasegawa, Yumi Hara, Ayaka Fukuhara, Ayaka Ohashi<\/b>, and <\/span>Minami Yasuda<\/b> are all attending as special guests. Imai, Hasegawa, Hara, Fukuhara, Ohashi, and Yasuda are all part of <\/span>The IdolM@ster<\/span><\/i> franchise and will be having a special live concert during the convention. This will be the franchise\u2019s first<\/span> U.S. live concert and it will take place on May 15.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore,<\/span> Miki Hoshii<\/span> from <\/span>The IdolM@ster<\/span><\/i> will also be making her first U.S. appearance and will also have her own solo concert.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Other special guests also include Japanese voice actress <\/span>Yu Kousaka, <\/b>director <\/span>Kisuke Shinohara <\/b>(<\/span>My Dress-Up Darling, Bocchi the Rock!<\/span><\/i>), director <\/span>Yusuke Yamamoto<\/b> (<\/span>Oshi no Ko<\/span><\/i>), director <\/span>Takushi Koide<\/b>, and director <\/span>Ayumi Moriyama<\/b> (<\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Horizons<\/span><\/i>). Shinohara, Yamamoto, Moriyama, and Koide are participating in the \u201cGlobal Anime Challenge: Globe-Trotting Anime Creators\u201d panel on Saturday, May 16, where it will feature live drawings, behind-the-scenes talks of the challenge, and special giveaways.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The programs featured in Anime Central include <\/span>a special premiere of Goodbye Lara<\/span> and will feature behind-the-scenes talks with<\/span> director Koide, producer <\/span>Sayaka Ueda<\/b>, and <\/span>Momoko Hatooka<\/b>, the deputy editor of Newtype.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
