Responding is fraught with challenges.<\/p>\n<p>How do you avoid sounding defensive or dismissive? How do you avoid looking territorial while still explaining that some of these recommendations are generic, flawed, or completely wrong?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s one thing to know SEO. It\u2019s another to know how to respond tactfully when AI-generated recommendations are suddenly part of the conversation.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"resist-the-urge-to-respond-chatgpt-is-wrong\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Resist_the_urge_to_respond_%E2%80%98ChatGPT_is_wrong\"><\/span>Resist the urge to respond, \u2018ChatGPT is wrong\u2019<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>It might feel good to tell them the AI output they sent is wrong and that they should leave the SEO to you. They are trying to contribute ideas, move things forward, or make sure nothing is missed.<\/p>\n<p>If your first move is to attack the recommendations, they will hear you attacking the effort.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how we opened a recent client response:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cHi Dr. _______! Thanks for sending this over. There are a few ideas worth taking a look at. I also have some ideas on data we can give the model so it has more context. I\u2019ll follow up with you afterward with more details.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That response does a few important things:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It acknowledges the effort behind the recommendations.<\/li>\n<li>It signals that you\u2019re evaluating them objectively.<\/li>\n<li>And it gives you room to separate the useful ideas from the flawed ones later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You\u2019re not admitting that AI uncovered major issues you missed. You\u2019re showing willingness to review the recommendations professionally before making decisions.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"follow-up-with-whats-worth-exploring\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Follow_up_with_whats_worth_exploring\"><\/span>Follow up with what\u2019s worth exploring\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Don\u2019t lead with everything ChatGPT got wrong. Start with the ideas worth exploring first. That shows you evaluated the recommendations objectively instead of dismissing them outright.<\/p>\n<p>This is where you demonstrate expertise. Don\u2019t dismiss recommendations simply because they came from AI. I took a look and there is some room to get some more Philadelphia-relevant content\/language into this page while keeping it natural. This is a fundamental aspect of branding and positioning that could not only drive better user signals, resulting in better rankings, but higher conversion rates as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I would note that if you visit these websites, however, you\u2019ll see that they rank well for facelift queries even though they list many other procedures. It:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Acknowledges the valid strategic point behind the recommendation.<\/li>\n<li>Introduces contradictory evidence calmly.<\/li>\n<li>Allows the stakeholder to recognize the flaw in the AI\u2019s reasoning independently.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That is far more persuasive than simply saying \u201cChatGPT is wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"focus-on-improving-the-analysis-not-debating-the-output\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Focus_on_improving_the_analysis_not_debating_the_output\"><\/span>Focus on improving the analysis, not debating the output<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>At some point, you need to explain what is really happening: AI outputs are only as good as the prompt and context they are given.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, our client did not provide any context, data, or guidance.
