The manga<\/a> series<\/a> Gigant<\/em> from Gantz<\/em>\u2018 Hiroya Oku<\/strong> is getting adapted into an animated film. Japanese film company K2 Pictures<\/strong>, which is involved with a live-action film adaptation of the Look Back<\/em> manga, made the announcement at the Cannes Film Festival as part of its new lineup reveal.<\/span><\/p>\n

This will be the first animated title from K2 Pictures, which was founded in 2023. The film\u2019s staff, cast, and animation production studio are currently unknown.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gigant<\/em> sees porn actress Papico gaining the ability to increase to gigantic proportions. It started serialization in 2017 in Shogakukan\u2018s Big Comic Superior and released its 10th and final volumes in 2021.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Oku\u2019s Gantz<\/em> and Inuyashiki<\/em> have both inspired TV anime and live-action movie adaptations. Gantz also has a CG animated film.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2024, K2 Pictures announced the K2P Film Fund, with which it intended to work with investors worldwide to \u201cprovide support for Japanese features across both animation and live-action and\u2026 enable investors, creators and crew members to profit from the Japanese film industry.\u201d Fundraising ended in February of this year with around 5 billion yen (US$31.4 thousand) raised.<\/span><\/p>\n

The anime studio MAPP<\/a>A<\/strong> is among its listed partners, and is said to be working with CEO Muneyuki Kii<\/strong>, an ex-Toei producer, on \u201cthe planning of two feature-length animations.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
