The upcoming Wasted Chef<\/em> anime<\/a> film has received a teaser visual (via Comic Natalie<\/a>). The image shows two characters in conversation while preparing a burger.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the illustration depicts a happ<\/a>y-looking scene, the accompanying tagline states, \u201cOn that day, you and taste disappeared from the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Wasted Chef<\/em>\u2018s production was\u00a0reported in 2023. It\u2019s the first original work from director Takayuki Hirao\u00a0<\/strong>(Pompo the Cinephile<\/em>,\u00a0The\u00a0Garden of Sinners<\/em>:\u00a0Paradox Spiral<\/em>, God Eater<\/em>, Gyo: Tokyo Fish Attack<\/em>), who\u2019s again directing at Pompo the Cinephile<\/em>\u2018s\u00a0CLAP<\/strong>. Other staff\u00a0include Shingo Adachi<\/strong>\u00a0(Lycoris Recoil<\/em>\u00a0director,\u00a0Sword Art Online<\/em> Season 1 and 2 character designer) as main character designer and Kenta Matsukuma\u00a0<\/strong>(Pompo The Cinephile<\/em>) as music composer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last month saw some footage from the movie being revealed through a trailer for this year\u2019s Annecy Animation Showcase, which features work-in-progress titles that are shown to \u201csales agents, distributors, and festival programmers.\u201d Wasted Chef\u00a0<\/em>is scheduled to wrap production in 2027, according to Annecy.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film\u2019s Annecy Animation Showcase synopsis reads:<\/span><\/p>\n

A young chef chasing a lost flavor lands in a ruined city without taste. Saved by Kasumi, his cooking awakens forgotten memories. But a dark force threatens to erase all desire \u2014 making his quest the last hope to save both worlds.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
