The Massachusetts lawmaker asked the US Comptroller of the Currency to provide all communications between the agency and Donald Trump potentially related to the charter app<\/a>rovals.<\/p>\n

Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren accused Office of the Comptroller of the Currency\u2019s (OCC\u2019s) Jonathan Gould of violating banking laws by approving national trust charters for cryptocurrency companies.<\/p>\n

In a Monday letter to Gould, Warren said<\/a> the OCC head had \u201capproved at least nine national trust charters for crypto companies that intend to engage in activities that appear to go far beyond the narrow set of activities permitted by law,\u201d an apparent violation of the National Bank Act. <\/p>\n
