The modern buyer journey is fragmented. Shoppers narrow down their options with AI search, and then check your brand in Google to verify. But it\u2019s a terrible standalone KPI.<\/p>\n<p>Adam Heitzman pointed out in a recent breakdown of vanity metrics that organic traffic on its own lacks context. A drop in overall visitors isn\u2019t necessarily a crisis if you\u2019re shedding the right kind of visitors. If thousands of users bounce after reading a generic glossary FAQ in 3 seconds, this isn\u2019t helping your business.<\/p>\n<p>Heitzman notes a perfect scenario for this: If an organization prunes low-intent informational fluff and doubles down on high-intent service pages, its overall traffic might drop by 20%. In the old days, that kind of traffic drop would trigger panic. But because the site is attracting more qualified buyers, organic revenue actually increases by 30%. The site gets fewer visitors overall, but those who convert more often.<\/p>\n<p>When you stop treating a top-of-funnel blog post click and a pricing page click as equals, you can clear the noise out of your dashboard. They want to do that with instant answers, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reddit<\/a> threads, TikTok, and LLMs.<\/p>\n<p>Generic, consensus, informational traffic is going all the way to zero.<\/p>\n<p>The irony is that SEO teams are still pouring the majority of their effort into the exact content types <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/signal.zyppy.com\/p\/content-google-zero\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">most susceptible to AI death<\/a>: long-form explainers, roundups, and FAQs.<\/p>\n<p>If informational business blogging is dead, what is left on your site that is actually worth tracking?<\/p>\n<p>You need to narrow your reporting down to the actual distribution moats \u2014 the high-intent transactional nodes that AI can\u2019t easily replicate or bypass. Moving forward, there are really only four types of pages worth reporting organic traffic on:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Homepage:<\/strong> <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.siegemedia.com\/strategy\/ai-homepage-traffic-increase\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Siege Media found<\/a> that homepage traffic from LLMs is growing. When AI summaries recommend a brand, users often bypass the provided link, open a new tab, and search the brand name directly.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pricing pages:<\/strong> This is where buyers go when they are ready to transact.
