On Friday, The Times of London<\/em> published an interview with the Hips Don\u2019t Lie<\/em> singer where she offered a rare \u2014 and surprisingly positive \u2014 comment about the father of her children Gerard Piqu\u00e9<\/strong>. Despite everything he\u2019s allegedly put her through, the pop star told the outlet:<\/p>\n

\u201cI will always have that gratitude in my heart for the father of my kids and [for] turning me into the mother that I am today.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

For those who aren\u2019t in the know, the now-exes split up in 2022 amid reports Gerard cheated on the TQG<\/em> singer with now-girlfriend Clara Ch\u00eda Mart\u00ed<\/strong>. Remember the infamous jam story?? Who could ever forget! Definitely not Shakira\u2026 On their split, Shakira described it to the outlet as \u201cthe darkest moment\u201d where she \u201csaw the dissolution of my family, the family that I had dreamt to keep forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

How sad! She went on:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been through so much pain, but it has made me perhaps in an unforeseen way a wiser person \u2014 or stronger, at least. They say that what doesn\u2019t kill you makes you stronger and it is true. It\u2019s amazing to learn that humans have a resilience that we can resort to at any moment in our lives. According to Shakira, Adele<\/strong> and Chris Martin<\/strong> were two of her famous friends that stepped in to offer support. The latter app<\/a>arently sent her a photo of a broken vase glued back together with gold and referenced the Japanese artform Kintsugi:<\/p>\n

As for her love life, the mom-of-two noted she\u2019s currently just focused on raising the boys and advancing her career:<\/p>\n

\u201cOh no, no romance for me for now. There\u2019s no space or time in my life for that. My plate is quite full. My kids are my priority. And my career. Strangely enough, I\u2019m in love with my career like I\u2019ve never been in my life. I\u2019m enjoying my time alone as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
