Chelsea Handler<\/strong> is out here naming names and spilling celebrity dating tea like it\u2019s happ<\/a>y hour \u2014 and this latest confession is already making the internet clutch its pearls!<\/p>\n

The comedia<\/a>n stopped by Kristin Cavallari<\/strong>\u2019s Let\u2019s Be Honest<\/em> podcast this week and did not hesitate when asked to reveal a terrible celebrity date story she\u2019s never shared publicly before.<\/p>\n

Instead of dancing around the topic or dropping vague hints, Chelsea went straight for the jugular and revealed she had a terrible date with a VERY high-profile A-list star\u2026 who was none other than celebrity chef Bobby Flay<\/strong>. Oof!!<\/p>\n

According to Handler on Tuesday\u2019s new podcast episode, the whole thing actually started out pretty promising. After being set up by a mutual connection, the pair reportedly spent time chatting on the phone and flirting before Bobby decided to impress Chelsea and her girlfriends with a fancy hotel food order. Sounds smooth enough, right? Well\u2026 not exactly.<\/p>\n

The former late-night host explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cI was at a hotel with some girlfriends. He knew the hotel well. He wanted to order \u2026 food for us. He was like, \u2018Let me order your food for you. I love that hotel.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Cute gesture! Until the bill arrived at Chelsea\u2019s door instead of Bobby\u2019s! Yes, really \u2014 the hotel sent her<\/em> the bill.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when the vibe completely crashed and burned for the former Chelsea Lately<\/em> host. And apparently somebody nearby was quick to explain that this wasn\u2019t exactly shocking behavior from the Food Network<\/strong> star, as Chelsea recalled:<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I\u2019m like, \u2018What?\u2019 And then somebody was like, \u2018Oh yeah. He\u2019s really cheap.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Oh, I hate cheap.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Chelsea went on to make it crystal clear that frugality is not exactly a turn-on in her dating world, especially when someone is trying to woo her:<\/p>\n

Even after the awkward hotel-room-service disaster, Chelsea still gave Bobby another shot and agreed to go on an actual date with him. But according to her, the chemistry simply wasn\u2019t there. And whatever did happen clearly left an impression because she summed the entire experience up with one brutally simple description:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was just, like, messy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Messy?! Now THAT is the kind of vague-yet-devastating celebrity review that keeps gossip lovers fed for days.<\/p>\n

What makes this even funnier is the fact that Bobby was on Kristin\u2019s podcast in late 2024 talking about his own dating history! During that conversation, he recalled sliding into Kristin\u2019s DMs and trying to take her out while visiting Nashville. Kristin insisted she turned him down because she was exhausted from dating, while Bobby jokingly claimed she told him she was already seeing someone. Either way, the chef clearly has no fear when it comes to shooting his shot.<\/p>\n

These days Bobby is reportedly happily coupled up with fellow chef Brooke Williamson<\/strong>, so it doesn\u2019t seem like Chelsea\u2019s brutally honest recollection is going to shake up his love life too much. Still, the internet is absolutely going to have opinions about the idea of a millionaire celebrity chef allegedly sticking someone else<\/em> with the room service tab.<\/p>\n
