\n\tFremantle and British production firm\u00a0Archery Pictures\u00a0(Is This Thing On?,\u00a0Riviera, Fate:\u00a0The Winx Saga)<\/em>,\u00a0the\u00a0company\u00a0of\u00a0producer Kris\u00a0Thykier,\u00a0will collaborate on a new\u00a0original\u00a0crime drama series<\/a> with the working title\u00a0Moriarty<\/em>, written by\u00a0Chris Cornwell\u00a0(A Discovery of Witches, Strike Back)\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<\/em>Oliver Lansley (Where\u2019s\u00a0Wanda?<\/em>,\u00a0Flack<\/em>).<\/p>\n

\n\tArchery and Fremantle will co-produce the show \u201cinspired by\u201d Professor James Moriarty, the fictional character created by Arthur Conan Doyle as the formidable archenemy of Sherlock Holmes.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe partners described the project as \u201ca modern reinvention of the crime procedural, based on the most famous villain in all of detective fiction.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tA synopsis reads: \u201cJames Moriarty is a Professor of Criminal Psychology at Durham University but leads a secret double life as the mastermind behind every crime of sophistication in the North of England.\u00a0 When a rival criminal begins an assault on his underground empire, Moriarty will have only one choice: to join the police as a consultant, using the law as a weapon to dismantle his foe while keeping his\u00a0true identity\u00a0hidden from the police.\u201d He gets paired with Detective Imogen Burrows, \u201ca stoic Yorkshire detective\u201d to form \u201ca fearsome team, but Moriarty will soon realize that the real threat isn\u2019t the rival criminal faction he\u2019s dismantling, but Imogen\u2019s increasingly perceptive suspicions.\u201d
