During its inaugural edition last year, more than 20,000 visitors attended, with organizers counting people from over 80 different countries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSXSW London chief programming officer Katy Arnander and her team have again put together a very British, or even London, take on the SXSW ethos. \u201cIt\u2019s got the Austin DNA in the model, but it\u2019s also got a London twist,\u201d she tells <em>THR<\/em>. \u201cBecause, of course, London is very different from Austin. So, we have this incredible program mix of conference, screen, music, and also some visual arts because we\u2019re here in London. It\u2019s about discovery,\u201d learning and experiencing new things and exchanging yourself.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cSpain in Transmission: New Digital Work,\u201d which is in the spotlight in the arts part of the program, gives you that chance by bringing together four artists, namely Enrique Agudo, filip custic, Jesu Moratiel and Marina N\u00fa\u00f1ez. \u201cAlthough Spain is celebrated for cultural icons from Goya and Velazquez to Dali and Picasso, the country has also become a center of innovation and has produced a new generation of artists who embrace digital tools as central to their production,\u201d explains the SXSW London website, emphasizing that the event is \u201ccommitted to exploring both the challenges and opportunities of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> in the creative industries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn that same vein, artificial intelligence and robotics, and how they and should change various parts of life, are topics across the SXSW London 2026 conference schedule. These were themes that kept coming up in the curation process. So, it was never really a question about how to address AI. \u201cMy question on that is: what doesn\u2019t involve AI now?\u201d Arnander shares. \u201cAI is now a proprietary tool that affects everything, from editors, filmmakers, musicians, other creatives, research and development for new medicines and the workplace. So, everything is about AI now. Anything that we talk about has an AI spin on it. The debate that\u2019s coming through for everybody is more about how AI is going to change my particular world?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSXSW London discussions for creatives, she adds, will naturally feature such questions as \u201cAm I going to use those AI tools to compose, or how am I going to integrate them within my practice, so that I can use them as a tool rather than be dominated by them?\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSpeaking of protecting yourself from AI: World Wide Web creator Tim Berners-Lee will present Charlie, a personal AI assistant built on the open web standard that he created to empower individuals with control over their data. \u201cCharlie acts as your advocate and gatekeeper in front of the AI tools you already use,\u201d notes a SXSW London preview.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content-image \/\/  \">\n<figure class=\"o-figure   aligncenter size-full aligncenter lrv-u-max-width-100p\" style=\"width:360px\">\n<div class=\"c-lazy-image  \">\n<div class=\"lrv-a-crop-16x9\" style=\"padding-bottom:calc((540\/360)*100%);\">\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/wp-content\/themes\/vip\/pmc-hollywoodreporter-2021\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.gif\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/PHOTO-2026-04-23-17-19-21_8caaa5.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-lazy-srcset=\"\" data-lazy-sizes=\"\" height=\"540\" width=\"360\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div><figcaption class=\"c-figcaption  lrv-u-padding-tb-025\">\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"a-font-secondary-s lrv-u-margin-r-025\">Katy Arnander, courtesy of SXSW London<\/span><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMeanwhile, robotics will be in focus in such sessions as one entitled \u201cA Robot Walks Into the Office\u2026\u201d Nathan Wallace, the head of robotics at NextGen Ri, the U.K. partner of Unitree Robotics, will explore what happens \u201cwhen humanoid robots step off the factory floor and into the spaces where we work, interact, and build our livelihoods\u201d \u2013 and he will bring a Unitree G1 humanoid robot onto the stage with him. Similarly, a panel will debate the topic: \u201cSeeing Is Believing: The Vision Behind Humanoid &amp; Robotic AI.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWe call that futurism in practice,\u201d explains Arnander. \u201cWhat does it look like to live in the future?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tA different kind of tech debate you can expect at SXSW London will be about the power of technology giants and the Tech Bros. \u201cA theme that came through is this idea of how techno feudalism and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> have changed the way that people communicate and run political campaigns, for example, or how they communicate to their different listeners and groups, and how that can shape influence and policy,\u201d  Arnander tells <em>THR<\/em>. \u201cAnd we need look no further than President Trump to see how AI actually is shaping a lot of the way that he\u2019s communicating with his audience and followers as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIf just the thought of political divisions gives you a headache, mental health and related issues of dealing with the state of the planet are also a recurring theme across the SXSW London conference schedule. \u201cThis year, there are quite a lot of sessions on mental health and on how to cope with the world that we\u2019re living in, particularly children and social media, including what we should be sharing, what we shouldn\u2019t be sharing,\u201d highlights the programming chief. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCase in point: a session entitled \u201cOverloaded with Ruby Wax.\u201d Says Arnander: \u201cWe\u2019ve got Ruby Wax, the actor, writer, but also trained in and talks a lot about mental health.\u201d Indeed, Wax has a master\u2019s degree in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy from Oxford University.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAnd what helps mental health more than connections and community?! In line with that, SXSW London has expanded its networking and mentoring offerings this year, with more than 120 mentors.\u00a0\u201cWe have a lot more networking and mentoring sessions, because what we heard last year was that people come to these events in real life to meet each other and to discover and share ideas and to discover new things they might not know,\u201d Arnander tells <em>THR<\/em>. \u201cSo we [answered that demand by] setting up specific networking sessions. We have over 120 one-to-one mentors for 20-minute sessions. It\u2019s like speed dating, and you book it on the app, which is much better this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPlus, of course, there is also the social aspect of London. \u201cWe have many more open parties for our delegates to attend,\u201d concludes Arnander. \u201cSo, we\u2019re all about networking this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
