Basically, the Blu-ray is coming, but don\u2019t expect any cover art to go with it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">As founder <strong>Justin Sevakis<\/strong> explains, MediaOCD hit a snag with getting the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roval for the packaging from Japan. \u201cWe had some good back-and-forth initially, but ultimately we simply could not get this approval to the finish line. Due to the way the copyright system works over there, we hit a procedural log jam. We\u2019ve made absolutely no progress in over a year,\u201d wrote Sevakis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">\u201cWe\u2019ve done everything we could think of to rectify the situation, but unfortunately, this is not going to get fixed. Worse, we discovered that our contract for the show (which we inherited from the previous owners of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/anime-manga\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"6\" title=\"Anime || Manga\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AnimE<\/a>igo), ran out much sooner than we expected: next year. That means that we\u2019re basically out of time to do a proper release.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Vampire Princess Miyu - The Complete OVA Series - Limited Blu-ray Release\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YTAuYfE9pZ4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Aside from the remaster itself being ready, Sevakis noted that \u201cThe wall we hit with approvals would likely make it impossible for anyone to release it in the future. What a waste!\u201d And so, with the <em>Vampire Princess Miyu\u00a0<\/em>Blu-ray trapped in its current situation, Sevakis decided that MediaOCD would go ahead with the disc\u2019s release, sans the usual packaging aesthetics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">\u201cWe\u2019re releasing this disc on our own site, without artwork or design to approve. Yes, it\u2019s a completely blank cover,\u201d said Sevakis. \u201cSince this will be\u00a0exclusive to the MediaOCD Store, it will naturally come with its own matching slipcase.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Sevakis acknowledged that MediaOCD \u201cobviously can\u2019t do a proper release with a package like this,\u201d but said that \u201cthe limited release we\u2019re giving Miyu lets us have some fun with this. Look out for some fun opportunities to be creative once this ships.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The <em>Vampire Princess Miyu\u00a0<\/em>Blu-ray will ship \u201con or before\u201d September 8 of this year, providing \u201cenough time to gauge demand and make enough copies to last us roughly until our license period expires next year,\u201d and can be pre-ordered for US<span class=\"price\"><span class=\"woocommerce-Price-amount amount\"><span class=\"woocommerce-Price-currencySymbol\">$<\/span>24.95. As previously announced, it includes both the UK and US English dubs.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">\u201cIf a miracle happens and we can eventually release this with a real package, we promise we\u2019ll work something out so you can get one without having to re-buy it,\u201d said Sevakis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The four-episode <em>Vampire Princess Miyu<\/em> OVA is directed by <strong>Toshihiro Hirano\/Toshiki Hirano<\/strong> (<em>Magic Knight Rayearth\u00a0<\/em>and <em>Baki Hanma<\/em>), with character designs by <strong>Narumi Kakinouchi<\/strong> and music by<strong> Kenji Kawai<\/strong> (<em>Ghost in the Shell<\/em>). Hirano and Kakinouchi are also credited as its creators, while <strong>AIC<\/strong> is the animation production studio.. MediaOCD\u2019s synopsis for it reads:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><em>Miyu appears to be a beautiful, doll-like young girl with a mysterious aura. But when the spiritualist Himiko confronts her after a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of vampire attacks, she reveals that she is not just a vampire, but royalty \u2013 and locked in a vicious war with the demonic Shinma.
