The main theme<\/a> songs and two new cast members have been revealed for the upcoming <\/span>Iwamoto-senpai no Suisen<\/span><\/i> TV anime<\/a> series<\/a>, which will debut in Japan on July 4, 2026.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The anime\u2019s opening theme is \u201cBUDDING\u201d by <\/span>THE JET BOY BANGERZ<\/b> and the ending theme is \u201cKoko ni Iru\u201d by <\/span>WOLF HOWL HARMONY<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    Toshifumi Kawase<\/b> (<\/span>Yakuza Fianc\u00e9: Raise wa Tanin Ga Ii<\/span><\/i>) is directing the anime series, with <\/span>Keiichiro Ochi<\/b> (<\/span>The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten<\/span><\/i>) as series composer and <\/span>Atsuko Nakajima<\/b> (<\/span>Komi Can\u2019t Communicate, Ranma 1\/2<\/span><\/i> remake) as character designer. <\/span>Studio Deen<\/b> is in charge of the animation production.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    The <\/span>anime adaptation<\/span> is based on the historical supernatural manga series by <\/span>Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan<\/span><\/i> creator <\/span>Hiroshi Shibashi<\/b>. It began serialization in Shueisha\u2019s Ultra Jump seinen magazine on February 19, 2021 and has released 13 tankobon volumes as of January 2026. A 14th volume will be published in Japan on July 17, 2026.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    Shibashi\u2019s manga originally began as a one-shot on Shonen Jump+ that was released in March 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Iwamoto-senpai no Suisen<\/span><\/i> centers on Kodo Iwamoto, who attends a middle school under the army\u2019s control during the early 20th century, and is ordered to investigate supernatural phenomena around the country. One day, he comes across a boy with a special power and offers him a recommendation letter to join his school.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
