The upcoming Kaiju No. 8<\/em> short Narumi\u2019s Week at Work<\/em> has received a main visual, which depicts the titular character in a leisurely situation. It was also announced that it would be released in fall 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

Narumi\u2019s Week at Work <\/em>was announced with the Kaiju No. 8\u00a0<\/em>TV anime<\/a>\u2019s \u201cFinal Chapter\u201d last December. It\u2019s the second Kaiju No. 8\u00a0<\/em>short after the previously released Hoshina\u2019s Day Off<\/em>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kaiju No. 8\u00a0<\/em>is based on the Shueisha-published manga by\u00a0Naoya Matsumoto<\/strong>, which debuted in 2020 on Shonen Jump+ and released its 16th and final volume in September 2025. VIZ Media<\/a> describes the manga as such:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she\u2019s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There\u2019s just one problem\u2014he\u2019s made the Defense Force\u2019s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

The anime\u2019s first season premiered in April 2024, while the second season premiered in July 2025. 2025 also saw the launch of Kaiju No.8 The Game<\/a> <\/em>on App<\/a> Store, Google Play, and Steam.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
