Bidding strategies are labeled, separating target-based bidding strategies from volume-based bidding strategies.<\/p>\n<p>Starting this month, \u201cMaximize conversions with a Target CPA\u201d will once again be called Target CPA, while \u201cMaximize conversion value with a Target ROAS\u201d will return to Target ROAS.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h-why-it-matters\"><strong>Why we care.<\/strong> The change is designed to make it clearer whether a campaign is optimising for maximum volume or attempting to hit a specific performance target.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h-the-details\"><strong>The details.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Maximize Conversions<\/strong> remains available for advertisers focused on driving as many conversions as possible within budget.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maximize Conversion Value<\/strong> remains available for advertisers focused on generating the highest conversion value possible within budget.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"h-what-isn-t-changing\"><strong>What isn\u2019t changing. <\/strong>The update is purely organisational.<\/p>\n<p>Google says there are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No changes to bidding behaviour<\/li>\n<li>No changes to campaign performance<\/li>\n<li>No changes required from advertisers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Campaigns will continue to bid exactly as they do today.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h-for-api-users\"><strong>For API users.<\/strong> Google is also aligning the interface more closely with how bidding strategies are represented in the Google Ads API.<\/p>\n<p>Developers should review integrations, reporting tools, and campaign creation workflows to ensure they correctly recognise standalone TARGET_CPA and TARGET_ROAS strategy types.<\/p>\n<p>Google is encouraging API users to monitor future updates related to:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The BiddingStrategyType enum<\/li>\n<li>Standalone TargetCpa and TargetRoas messages<\/li>\n<li>Optional target settings within MaximizeConversions and MaximizeConversionValue<\/li>\n<li>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"h-bottom-line\"><strong>Bottom line<\/strong>.
