The Netflix Anime<\/a> X\/Twitter<\/a> account has revealed a visual featuring the cast of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2<\/em>, as well as the sequel anime\u2019s fall 2026 release window. The identities of the new crew, which were unveiled one at a time over at the Cyberpunk Edgerunners<\/em><\/a> and CD Projekt Red Japan X\/Twitter accounts, are Weak Kingsley (standing), D (blue jacket), Roman Carax (the kid), and Talia Yang (masked, hair vents, ahoge).<\/span><\/p>\n

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2<\/em>, also produced at TRIGGER <\/strong>like its predecessor, features\u00a0Kai Ikarashi\u00a0<\/b>(Cyberpunk Edgerunners<\/em> Episode 6 storyboard artist and animation director et al., Tengoku Daimakyo<\/em> Episode 10 storyboard artist and director et al.). as director and Ichigo Kanno<\/strong> (Metallic Child<\/em> animation trailer director) as lead character designer. Bartosz Sztybor<\/strong> (Cyberpunk Edgerunners<\/em> narrative director) and TRIGGER CEO Masahiko Otsuka<\/strong> (Cyberpunk Edgerunners<\/em> assistant director and co-script<\/a>writer, , (Promare <\/em>and Gurren Lagann <\/em>assistant director) are also part of the production. The show is described as featuring \u201ca raw, realistic take on the most dangerous city of the dark future.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The first\u00a0Cyberpunk: Edgerunners<\/em> series<\/a>, which was directed by H<\/strong>iroyuki Imaishi<\/strong>\u00a0(Promare<\/em>, Kill la Kill, Gurren Lagann<\/em>) with\u00a0Yoh Yoshinari<\/strong>\u00a0(BNA: Brand New Animal<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Little Witch Academia\u00a0<\/em>director) and\u00a0Yuuto Kaneko<\/strong>\u00a0(BNA: Brand New Animal\u00a0<\/em>animation director) as character designers, was released on Netflix on September 13, 2022 with 10 episodes. Its story followed the rise and fall of street kid David (KENN<\/strong>) who joins a group of cyberpunks after a certain incident and an encounter with\u00a0the netrunner Lucy (Aoi Yuki<\/strong>). The anime is inspired by the 2020 sci-fi open world RPG Cyberpunk 2077\u00a0<\/em>from\u00a0CD Projekt Red<\/strong>, which is in turn based on the tabletop RPG by\u00a0Mike Pondsmith<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners <\/em>has inspired a prequel spin-off manga and video game<\/a> collaborations with GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-<\/em> and Wuthering Waves<\/em>. An artbook, titled The Art of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners<\/em><\/a>, ended pre-orders earlier this month and will go on sale in late July.<\/span><\/p>\n
