\n From the right: The NFL\u2019s Social-Justice Debacle<\/strong><\/p>\n

Protests and political statements have transformed the National Football League from \u201cthe glue that gave a guy sitting in his game<\/a> room in East Palestine, Ohio, a deep connection with a guy in a penthouse in Manhattan\u201d to \u201ca social-justice organization that was no longer holding them together,\u201d writes Salena Zito for Creators<\/a>. During opening week, which was packed with social-justice messages, ratings plunged 17 percent, proving that the younger audience the league aims to attract \u201cdoes not have the loyalty Baby Boomer or Gen X football fans once did.\u201d Older fans miss what was once an escape from \u201cpolitics infecting everything they do.\u201d Even those who \u201cagree with the sentiments .\u2009.\u2009. just want to enjoy a game without being lectured.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conservative: The Left\u2019s War on US Institutions<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIt took less than 24 hours for left-wingers to pledge burning down the country if Republicans don\u2019t abdicate their constitutional duty\u201d to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg\u2019s Supreme Court seat, sighs Tristan Justice at The Federalist<\/a>. And these weren\u2019t \u201cfringe left-wingers or arbitrary psychopaths\u201d but \u201cmainstream writers with considerable platforms\u201d working to \u201cinspire\u201d unrest. Democrats have also \u201cramped up their existing war\u201d on US institutions, vowing to pack the high court, make DC and Puerto Rico states and perhaps launch \u201ca second crimeless impeachment.\u201d It\u2019s all because \u201cleft-wing academics\u201d have \u201ccultivated\u201d woke children \u201cnow permeating the nation\u2019s mainstream institutions and transforming society.\u201d<\/p>\n

From the left: Why Elites Diss Joe Rogan<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joe Rogan\u2019s online show garners millions of visitors a day, sometimes quadrupling the viewership of the top prime-time cable shows. So, asks The Intercept\u2019s Glenn Greenwald<\/a>, why does he \u201creceive so much less media attention than\u201d established pundits with far smaller audiences? The prestige press reacted with \u201ccondescending scorn\u201d after President Trump took up a \u201csuggestion that Rogan host a four-hour, sit-down presidential debate between the two candidates.\u201d It\u2019s bizarre, since Rogan is basically a social liberal who believes in more spending to help the working class. But he dares to question some aspects of \u201cthe full panoply of trans advocacy\u201d and signals \u201cculturally conservative\u201d preferences: \u201cHe likes MMA fighting, makes crude jokes, hunts and just general<\/a>ly fails to speak in the lingo of the professional managerial class.\u201d That makes Rogan \u201canathema\u201d to liberals.<\/p>\n

Russiagate watch: The Mueller Maneuver<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cNo one can argue\u201d that Robert Mueller\u2019s \u201ccollusion\u201d probe \u201cwas rushed, undermanned, underfunded, restricted or somehow unfairly limited,\u201d \u00adobserves National Review\u2019s Jim Geraghty<\/a>: The special counsel took \u201c22 months, with 19 lawyers, 40 FBI agents, intelligence analysts, forensic accountants and other professional staff at his disposal, after interviewing 500 witnesses, issuing 2,800 subpoenas, 230 orders for communication records, 13 requests to foreign governments and nearly 500 search warrants.\u201d But the result \u201cdisapp<\/a>ointed\u201d Trump critics, and Mueller deputy Andrew Weissmann now claims \u201cthe former FBI director was intimidated by the president and failed to do his duties.\u201d Huh? Critics don\u2019t get to build Mueller \u201cup to the point where his face is on prayer candles and \u2018In Mueller We Trust\u2019 merchandise is for sale\u201d and then suddenly \u201cconclude he\u2019s a bumbling, hapless Keystone Cop when he says the evidence isn\u2019t there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cultural critic: How RGB Made Old Age Look Cool<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cRuth Bader Ginsburg was 80 the year she transformed from public figure to pop-culture icon,\u201d notes Joanna Weiss at Politico<\/a>. In 2013, an NYU law student created the Notorious RGB blog on Tumblr, blending photos of her with rap and other lyrics. It preserved her \u201cintelligence and drive\u201d while making the justice \u201ca badass and, better, a meme.\u201d At first bemused, RBG soon came to \u201cembrace\u201d the image. This was new, \u201ca way of not just appreciating the wisdom that comes with experience, but of viewing age itself, and the staying power it conveys, as actually cool.\u201d The downside: This \u201cnewfound frankness sometimes got the real Ginsburg into trouble,\u201d leading her to express disapproval of both Colin Kaepernick and President Trump. And perhaps her \u201cnewfound power\u201d left her too reluctant to retire in the Obama years.<\/p>\n
