Those albums unfurled with lullaby-like compositional works, strobe-lit Reggaeton, noise music, ambient, and more. The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> undoubtably spelled a new era of ambition for Arca, but its epic scope meant that it didn&#8217;t necessarily have the whirlwind momentum of her earlier mixtapes, namely 2013&#8217;s <i>&amp;&amp;&amp;&amp;&amp;<\/i> which was, personally, my favorite kinda of project by Arca.\n          <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>\n            On her latest album, <i>XXXXX<\/i>, out today, however, Arca straddles both cinematic atmosphere and pure noise, creating an environment and ethos that is equal parts organic and bloodied and machine. Songs like &#8220;<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_aS6H93JN9E&amp;list=RD_aS6H93JN9E&amp;start_radio=1\">Willow<\/a>&#8221; see her pairing a Clams Casino-like ambiance with an 8-bit counterpoint, an electric fuzz floating through a misty wind. My favorite track, &#8220;<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QV-Y3aVJdcY\">Fxck<\/a>,&#8221; features glittering percussion and epic bass stabs, its neat compassion  informed by a classic pop progression. On it she sings, &#8220;Kill the father,&#8221; a line that takes on epic resonance as the song builds into a full pop-inflected symphony, crushing patriarchy and power with bass and drums.\n          <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-282941\" class=\"content_block paragraph embed triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"media_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"\">\n    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Arca - Fxck (XXXXX Livestream)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QV-Y3aVJdcY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-282946\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>\n            Overall, the album is less a journey than a study in multi-polarity, a psychedelic tumble through sounds and genres and expression. The string-laden &#8220;<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6DnVp0y0Iro\">Finisher<\/a>&#8221; recalls her magisterial work on Bj\u00f6rk&#8217;s <i>Vulnicura<\/i>. The spacious and huge &#8220;<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=gYuUQathE_k\">Throb<\/a>&#8221; drowns the listener in dense layers of reverb. &#8220;Everything&#8221; \u2014 glitchy, breathing, gasping \u2014 sounds like a sonic birth, a slow-moving becoming as its stutters slow into phrases. Album closer, &#8220;<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=R7eYB6AroLg&amp;list=RDR7eYB6AroLg&amp;start_radio=1\">Sue\u00f1o<\/a>,&#8221; picks up the glitched pants of &#8220;Throb&#8221; and stretches it into a sustained scream.\n          <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-282936\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>\n            In 2013, Arca explored similar varied landscapes on <i>&amp;&amp;&amp;&amp;&amp;<\/i>. There were songs, like &#8220;<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2Cb89GTxW84&amp;list=RD2Cb89GTxW84&amp;start_radio=1\">Mother<\/a>,&#8221; that sounded like a detuned piano revelry in the vein of Aphex Twin. There was the chopped, screwed, and melted dance piece &#8220;<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_ODlul93BI8\">Pinch<\/a>,&#8221; and the serene, quasi-IDM of &#8220;<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=cc8gm6Vvo9s&amp;list=RDcc8gm6Vvo9s&amp;start_radio=1\">Obelisk<\/a>.&#8221; The unpredictability and sense of intuition that haunted <i>&amp;&amp;&amp;&amp;&amp;<\/i> made it a thrilling, often surprising listen, and showed a younger me how one artist could display their multitudes without being flashy or frenzied, but bold.\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            After five years of relative musical quiet, <i>XXXXX<\/i> comes back as a nimble and varied show of force from Arca, less a total musical world than a piece of free expression. There&#8217;s an energy and ease to it. An <i>X-factor<\/i>, if you will.
