A light novel adaptation of the ongoing Goodbye, Lara<\/em> original TV anime<\/a> is set to be released on October 9 under KADOKAWA\u2019s Dengeki Bunko label.<\/span><\/p>\n

Haruna Chihiro<\/strong> (Kono Sankaku Rabukome wa Shiawase ni naru Gimu ga aru<\/em>) is penning the novelization with illustrations by Yu Kuroto<\/strong> (Konna Kawaii Inazuke ga iru no ni, Hoka no Ko ga Suki na no?<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Goodbye, Lara\u00a0<\/em>anime, which is listed with 12 episodes, begin airing on July 5 at 24:30 JST (effectively July 6 at 00:30). The premise sees the mermaid princess Lara (Hana Hishikawa<\/strong>) being revived in modern-day Shiga, Japan, 200 years after a failed attempt to find true love on the surface world. To save her family and her kingdom, Lara once again embarks on a quest for love, becoming housemates with teen boxer Mari Otsu (Nana Kawaishi<\/strong>) in the process.<\/span><\/p>\n

Goodbye, Lara\u00a0<\/em>is directed by\u00a0Revue Starlight<\/em>\u00a0assistant director\u00a0Takushi Koide <\/strong>in his series<\/a> director debut, and serves as the 15th anniversary project of animation production studio\u00a0Kinema Citrus<\/strong>. Shiori Tani<\/strong>\u00a0(Revue Starlight<\/em>\u00a0prop designer,\u00a0Revue Starlight the Movie<\/em> co-main animator and animation director et al.) designed the characters, while Anna Kawahara<\/strong> (Ashita, Watashi wa Dareka no Kanojo<\/em> live-action series co-writer) handled the series composition. Kawahara also shares script<\/a>writing duties with Yusuke Aose <\/strong>and Mai Inui<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
