The Aniplex YouTube<\/a> channel has released a trailer for \u201cA(E)LIENS,\u201d one of the three anime<\/a> shorts from the upcoming CloverWorks<\/strong>-produced GROTESQQQUE<\/em> anthology film.<\/span><\/p>\n

The premise of \u201cA(E)LIENS\u201d features an alien girl called Elie, who comes to Earth as a goodwill ambassador and looks for \u201cfriends\u201d while accompanied by the space bureau\u2019s Kento Kunihara, Her experience is complicated by distrust from the humans and the app<\/a>earance of a hostile alien.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

GROTESQQQUE\u00a0<\/em>director Atsushi Nishigori\u00a0<\/b><\/strong>(Darling in the Franxx\u00a0<\/em>director and co-series<\/a> composer et al.,\u00a0The Idolmaster<\/em> director and character designer et al.) is also serving as the episode director for the short, which has Masato Anno<\/strong>\u00a0(Flying Witch<\/em>) as main character designer. The cast features Kana Ichinose<\/strong> as Elie,\u00a0Gen Hoshino<\/strong> as Kento, and Akio Otsuka<\/strong> as the chief of the space bureau..\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

GROTESQQQUE\u00a0<\/span><\/em>is set to debut in Japanese theaters on November 6. after a delay from its previous 2025 release date. The other two shorts in the anthology are \u201cYOROSHIKU\u2605Girl,\u201d where a group of girls in GALs TOKYO vie to become the \u201cQueen\u201d of the game<\/a> Queen of Butterfly, and the post apocalyptic vampire story \u201cNOCTURNE: NUIT GROTESQUE.” \u00a0Fantasia Film Festival 2026 hosted the world premiere.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
