Rajan Patel, Google\u2019s VP, Engineering for Search, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/rajanpatel\/status\/2090852799982813612\">said<\/a> \u201cIt\u2019s an issue on our end. We identified the issue and we\u2019re addressing it as quickly as we can. Sorry that this h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The issue started earlier this week, when I saw a significant <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seroundtable.com\/google-search-favicons-breaking-41904.html\">spike in complaints about favicons disappearing<\/a> from the Google Search result snippets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What it looks like. <\/strong>Here are some screenshots of Google showing a default globe icon, which means Google is not able to pull the proper favicon from the href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/rajanpatel\/status\/2090852799982813612\">said<\/a> \u201cIt\u2019s an issue on our end. We identified the issue and we\u2019re addressing it as quickly as we can. Sorry that this happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why we care. <\/strong>Having a unique favicon in the Google Search results can help make your search result snippet stand out from the rest.  Having a default icon can potentially lead to fewer clicks on the search listing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Google is working on a fix and we can see that some favicons are already resolved.
