If you\u2019re jonesing for some new\u00a0Creepshow<\/em> <\/strong>and can\u2019t wait until season 2, Shudder has you covered. An animated\u00a0Creepshow<\/em> Halloween special will air on the horror streaming service this October, bringing stories by Stephen King<\/strong> and son Joe Hill<\/strong> to life with the voice talents of\u00a0Kiefer Sutherland<\/strong> and Joey King<\/strong>.\u00a0Creepshow<\/em> TV series<\/a> creator Greg Nicotero<\/strong> directs.<\/p>\n

Creepshow<\/em> is coming back on October 26<\/strong>, just in time for Halloween, with an animated Halloween special. The special will adapt two stories \u2013 Stephen King\u2019s\u00a0Survivor Type<\/em> and Joe Hill\u2019s\u00a0Twitter<\/a>ing from the Circus of the Dead<\/em>. In\u00a0Survivor Type<\/em>, Kiefer Sutherland voices \u201ca man determined to stay alive alone on a deserted island no matter what the cost.\u201d And in\u00a0Twittering from the Circus of the Dead<\/em>,\u00a0<\/em>Joey King is \u201ca teen whose family road trip<\/a> includes a visit to the gravest show on earth.\u201d Greg Nicotero adapted\u00a0Survivor Type<\/em>, while\u00a0Twittering<\/em> was adapted by\u00a0Melanie Dale.
\nAt one point,\u00a0Survivor Type<\/em> was rumored to be a live-action segment of the first season of\u00a0Creepshow<\/em>, but that didn\u2019t happ<\/a>en. It\u2019s one of King\u2019s most gruesome stories \u2013 it\u2019s literally about a man cannibalizing himself to stay alive. And while I\u2019m happy to see any sort of adaptation of it, I will admit that a part of me wishes we could\u2019ve gotten a live-action version full of gruesome gore make-up effects. Oh well!<\/p>\n

\u201cHalloween wouldn\u2019t be complete without Creepshow, so with the help of the father and son team of Stephen & Joe as well as a fantastic animated format, we get to continue the tradition and spirit of Halloween,\u201d said Nicotero. Shudder General<\/a> Manager Craig Engler added: \u201cAlthough season 2, now in production, has been delayed due to Covid, Greg and his team were still able to pull off this fantastic special so everyone will be able to enjoy a little bit of Creepshow during Halloween season.\u201d<\/p>\n
