\n Amazon has released a new dashcam gadget that allows drivers to record police stops by simply saying, \u201cAlexa, I\u2019m getting pulled over,\u201d the company announced Thursday.<\/p>\n

Using the command, the Ring Car Cam tapes audio and video of the interactions then automatically uploads them to the user\u2019s cloud, the firm said in a blog post<\/a> revealing the product.<\/p>\n

\u201cTraffic stops can be a time when having video is important, so that everyone remains on their best behavior,\u201d Ring\u2019s head of mobile products, Nathan Ackerman, told CNET<\/a>. \u201dSo, we developed a feature to support that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once it\u2019s voice-activated, the \u201ctraffic stop\u201d feature communicates that it\u2019s recording and offers a list of driver-logged emergency contacts.<\/p>\n

The device also monitors car break-ins and sends a real-time alerts to owners.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith its dual-facing HD cameras, you can see a live view and check-in on what\u2019s happ<\/a>ening in and around the vehicle from anywhere over wifi or LTE,\u201d the company said.<\/p>\n

The gadget, which costs $200, also features an \u201cemergency crash assist\u201d tool that automatically requests help from first responders after a serious accident.<\/p>\n

Last year, Ring, which is a subsidiary of Amazon, partnered with police to create a map showing where its popular doorbell cameras were installed.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
