The Boys<\/strong><\/em> are back in town at Amazon \u2013 and even more Boys<\/em>-related action could be heading your to the streaming service soon.<\/p>\n

In the wake of the impressive viewership numbers of The Boys<\/em> season 2, Amazon is reportedly \u201cfast-tracking development\u00a0on a new iteration of the popular comic book series<\/a> adaptation.\u201d Get the details of the potential new series below.
<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Amazon, The Boys<\/em> season 2 \u201chad the most-watched global launch of an Amazon original series ever, with the episodes to date having grown the audience from Season 1 by 89%.\u201d That\u2019s a huge jump in audience engagement \u2013 it\u2019s no wonder that an Aisha Tyler-hosted The Boys<\/em>-theme<\/a>d aftershow has already been added to the streamer\u2019s roster and a third season has been given the greenlight. (Jensen Ackles is on board to play Soldier Boy, the original superhero in the world of the comic and TV series.)
\nNow a The Boys<\/em> spin-off is in the works too. Variety<\/a> says the spin-off \u201cis set at America\u2019s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (or \u201csupes\u201d) that is run by Vought International. It is described as an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. Part college show, part Hunger Game<\/a>s \u2014 with all the heart, satire and raunch of The Boys<\/em>.\u201d Sounds a little bit like the training sequences in the first Kingsman<\/em> movie, but with a superpowered twist.<\/p>\n

Craig Rosenberg<\/strong>, who is currently a writer and executive producer of the original series, is writing the pilot of this still-untitled spin-off and will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television will produce the new series.\u00a0The Boys<\/em> creator Eric Kripke<\/strong> will executive produce alongside The Boys<\/em> executive producers Seth Rogen<\/strong>, Evan Goldberg<\/strong>, and James Weaver<\/strong> of Point Grey Pictures. Not to be left out, Original Film\u2019s\u00a0Neal H. Moritz<\/strong> and Pavun Shetty\u00a0<\/strong>are on board as well.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the season 2 synopsis of The Boys<\/em>, which is currently airing week to week on Amazon Prime Video:<\/p>\n

In a more intense, more desperate Season 2 of THE BOYS, Butcher, Hughie and the team reel from their losses in Season 1. On the run from the law, they struggle to fight back against the Superheroes. As Vought, the company that manages the heroes, cashes in on the panic over the threat of Supervillains, and a new hero, Stormfront, shakes up the company and challenges an already unstable Homelander.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
