Adobe Premiere’s mobile video editing app is now available on Android, a year after its iPhone launch. The app is free to download from Google Play and works on phones running Android 13 or later with at least 5GB of RAM.

Premiere mobile is a touch-first version of Adobe’s desktop editor, aimed at creators making short videos for social platforms. It puts video, music, text, voiceovers, and effects on a multi-track timeline, with frame-level trimming and export at up to 4K.

Its headline audio tool, Enhance Audio, cuts background noise and sharpens speech in a single tap. Users can also start from templates made by other creators and pull in effects, transitions, and music from Adobe Stock or their own files.

The app includes generative AI tools built on Adobe’s Firefly platform, including Generative Fill, image-to-video, and sound effects generated from text prompts. Those features run on credits, and Adobe sells paid upgrades for extra credits and storage.

The core editor carries no ads or watermarks and does not force users to log in or upgrade, which puts it in direct competition with ByteDance’s CapCut and Meta’s Edits for the same audience.

The Android release does not yet match everything Adobe has planned. The company says Adobe Fonts, better captions, keyframes, cropping, beat detection, and the ability to continue an edit in desktop Premiere are all still on the way.

Adobe launched Premiere on iPhone on 30 September 2025 as a replacement for Premiere Rush, its earlier lightweight mobile editor, which it said it would retire. It said at the time that an Android version was in development.

The next generation of creators prefers to edit on mobile, an Adobe product director told TechCrunch then, and the app was a way to meet them there.

The launch is part of a broader push by Adobe to bring its creative tools and Firefly AI to people who work primarily on their phones. Photoshop and Firefly already have mobile apps.

If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
