She is also required to register as a sex offender, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kcra.com\/article\/sac-county-deputy-pleads-guilty-having-sex-with-minor-sentenced-6-months-custody\/34149450#\">KCRA reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop turned herself in back in June of 2019 after the boy\u2019s parent filed a report with police in their hometown of Folsom, California.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators began looking into Bishop\u2019s relationship with the boy in May and police later issued a warrant for her arrest. She had been on paid leave during the investigation and eventually resigned in August 2019 after her arrest, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sacramento.cbslocal.com\/2020\/09\/23\/deputy-shauna-bishop-jail-sex-16-year-old\/\">local CBS affiliate reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A five-year veteran at the sheriff\u2019s office, Bishop did not meet the teen through work or have sex with him on duty.
