For the first time in six years, funnyman Chris Rock, 55, will return to Studio H8 on Oct. 3 to host \u201cSaturday Night Live\u2019s\u201d 46th season.\u00a0 He will be joined by musical guest Megan Thee Stallion, 25.<\/p>\n

NBC made the announcement in a Thursday afternoon tweet<\/a> with a picture of sticky notes labeled \u201cOCT 3,\u201d \u201cChris Rock\u201d and \u201cMegan Thee Stallion.\u201d<\/p>\n

The gig marks the former cast member\u2019s third time hosting \u201cSNL\u201d \u2014 he previously in 1996 and 2014 \u2014 and Megan\u2019s first-ever app<\/a>earance on the sketch show. If that wasn\u2019t enticing enough, Jim Carrey will debut as Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on the episode, which airs just four days after Biden and Donald Trump face off in the first prime-time presidential debate.<\/p>\n

This has been a banner month for Rock, who will star in the fourth season of the hit FX series<\/a> \u201cFargo,\u201d premiering Sept. 27. Meanwhile, his musical guest\u2019s latest album, \u201cSuga,\u201d has garnered more than 900 million streams to date and spawned this summer\u2019s smash hit and time-time platinum single \u201cSavage,\u201d per an NBC press release.<\/p>\n

The entire \u201cSNL\u201d cast will return for the new season, which will adapt to<\/a> strict COVID-19 guidelines. The late-night show shut down in-person production in March due to the coronavirus but was able to put on<\/a> three remote episodes with guest stars including Tom Hanks and Brad Pitt.<\/p>\n

Both Rock and Megan have been the subject of controversy of late. Rock sparked a fierce backlash<\/a> earlier this month after blaming Democrats for the coronavirus pandemic, while Megan\u2019s hit single \u201cWAP\u201d outraged online pundits with its racy lyrics.\n <\/div>\n
