The team compared the figures to chemical ratios found in the crust of the Earth, terrestrial silica deposits, and marine plankton.<\/p>\n<p id=\"a4f1\" class=\"gz ha ew ex b hb it hc hd he iu hf hg hh iv hi hj hk iw hl hm hn ix ho hp hr eo df\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">\u201cBut there\u2019s so little phosphorus stellar abundance data. Phosphorus data exists for only about 1% of stars. When produced by the formation of light, these bright markings are called emission lines. Light passing through the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"av iz ja jb jc jd\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/the-cosmic-companion\/water-may-be-common-in-exoplanet-atmospheres-but-in-small-amounts-d939c0821743\">atmospheres of planets<\/a> or stars form dark markers called absorption lines.<\/p>\n<p id=\"2d03\" class=\"gz ha ew ex b hb it hc hd he iu hf hg hh iv hi hj hk iw hl hm hn ix ho hp hr eo df\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The region at which these absorption lines of phosphorus are found sit at the region at the red edge of the rainbow, just before the electromagnetic spectrum turns to infrared. This part of the rainbow is little-studied by astronomers, and few instruments are available to examine these frequencies.<\/p>\n<p id=\"e6a2\" class=\"gz ha ew ex b hb it hc hd he iu hf hg hh iv hi hj hk iw hl hm hn ix ho hp hr eo df\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">\u201cWe find that, in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>, plankton, Earth, and Mars are N-poor and P-rich compared with nearby stars. However, the dearth of P abundance data, which exists for only ~1% of all-stars and 1% of exoplanet hosts, makes it difficult to deduce clear trends in the stellar data, let alone the role of P in the evolution of an exoplanet,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"av iz ja jb jc jd\" href=\"https:\/\/iopscience.iop.org\/article\/10.3847\/2041-8213\/abb3cb\">researchers describe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"8d85\" class=\"gz ha ew ex b hb it hc hd he iu hf hg hh iv hi hj hk iw hl hm hn ix ho hp hr eo df\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Our own <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"av iz ja jb jc jd\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/the-cosmic-companion\/deep-radio-images-of-sun-suggest-our-star-is-hiding-a-secret-bdfe468e8b1f?source=friends_link&amp;sk=f80be6da188445ec59dfc42bfe2f6853\">Sun<\/a> is home to a fairly high concentration of phosphorus, and biology on Earth uses some of this to drive the mechanisms of life.<\/p>\n<p id=\"1430\" class=\"gz ha ew ex b hb it hc hd he iu hf hg hh iv hi hj hk iw hl hm hn ix ho hp hr eo df\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Small rocky planets would draw phosphorus into their cores, leaving the surface devoid of this element vital to biological systems.
