Vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris called Tupac Shakur the \u201cbest rapper alive\u201d during an interview at the NAACP\u2019s virtual convention Friday \u2014 even though the legendary emcee has been dead for more than two decades.<\/p>\n

\u201cBest rapper alive?\u201d CNN commentator Angela Rye asked the Oakland native.<\/p>\n

\u201cTupac,\u201d Harris answered with little hesitation before Rye reminded her that the West Coast icon had passed away long ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot alive, I know, I keep doing that,\u201d Harris said with a laugh.<\/p>\n

Tupac has notoriously been the subject of baseless conspiracy theories that he faked his own death when he was fatally shot in 1996, which Rye appeared to jokingly reference.<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, West Coast girls think Tupac lives on; I\u2019m with you,\u201d she laughed.<\/p>\n

The former San Francisco district attorney then struggled to name a living rapper \u2014\u00a0\u201cthere\u2019s so many, you know?\u201d she went on.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s some I would not mention right now because they should stay in their lane,\u201d Harris said, without elaborating.<\/p>\n

Eventually, she passed on the question.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was not supposed to be a stumper,\u201d Rye added.<\/p>\n
