You no longer have to deal with Apple\u2019s email app on your iPhone or iPad. As long as you\u2019re running iOS 14, iPadOS 14, or higher,\u00a0you can now set a third-party email client as the default. Prefer Gmail? Let\u2019s set it up!<\/p>\n

First, head over to the App Store and download the latest version of the Gmail app<\/a>. Once you\u2019re set, tap \u201cSettings\u201d on your iPhone or iPad.<\/p>\n

Scroll down to \u201cGmail\u201d and tap it. You can also type \u201cGmail\u201d in the search bar at the top, if you prefer.<\/p>\n

Tap \u201cDefault Mail App.\u201d<\/p>\n

Select \u201cGmail\u201d from the list, and you\u2019re done!<\/p>\n

Gmail is now the default email app on your iPhone or iPad. Whenever you tap a \u201cmailto:\u201d link, it will now open Gmail instead of Apple\u2019s \u201cMail\u201d client. You can also\u00a0set any other compatible email client\u00a0(including Outlook) as the default if you decide to switch again later.<\/p>\n

While you\u2019re at it, you might also want to\u00a0replace the default web browser with Google Chrome\u00a0or Mozilla Firefox.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
