\n The Louisville cop charged with \u201cwantonly\u201d firing his gun during the shooting death of Breonna Taylor pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Monday, according to reports.<\/p>\n

Former Det. Brett Hankison, the only officer involved in Taylor\u2019s fatal March 13 shooting to face charges, made his first court app<\/a>earance since he was indicted by a grand jury last week, WAVE-TV reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hankison remains free on $15,000 bond pending a return court appearance on Oct. 28, the station said.<\/p>\n

The field cop was hit with three counts of wanton endangerment for shooting through the window of Taylor\u2019s apartment during the botched raid, with bullets going into an occupied neighboring apartment.<\/p>\n

Hankison and two other officers \u2014 Sgt. Jon Mattingly and Det. Miles Cosgrove \u2014 busted into Taylor\u2019s apartment with a narcotics warrant and exchanged gunfire with her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker.<\/p>\n

Taylor, 26, was sleeping when the cops entered the apartment and fatally shot her.<\/p>\n

Walker, who had a licensed gun, told investigators he was not aware that the intruders were police officers.<\/p>\n

A shot allegedly fired by Walker struck Mattingly in the leg \u2014 although a newly released state ballistics report said it was inconclusive whether the shot that hit the cop was fired by Walker or another officer.<\/p>\n

Kentucky Attorney General<\/a> Daniel Cameron, who announced the grand jury indictment last week, said Cosgrove fired the shot that killed Taylor. However, the state report said it was also inconclusive which officer fired the fatal shot.<\/p>\n

None of the cops were charged with directly causing Taylor\u2019s death.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
