\n A Hamptons mayor is being booted out of his home \u2014 and a political rival says it\u2019s elaborate payback over a recent election.<\/p>\n

After bad blood boiled between new Southampton mayor Jesse Warren and wealthy local poobah Mark Epley, Epley purchased Warren\u2019s pad from Citibank executive Brandt Portugal.<\/p>\n

And now \u2014 days after Epley\u2019s son, Zach, was beaten to a coveted Village Board seat by candidates backed by Warren \u2014 Mark has handed Warren paperwork saying that he won\u2019t renew his lease when it expires at the end of the month.<\/p>\n

Zach told local news site 27east<\/a> that Warren \u201cdug his own grave on that one.\u201d He accused Warren of using very aggressive campaigning tactics during the election.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s about how nasty he was during the election,\u201d Zach said, \u201cWhy are we gonna keep somebody on a property that was so awful to us?\u201d<\/p>\n

(Warren didn\u2019t comment to 27east on his behavior while campaigning.)<\/p>\n

Back in July, when the property deal was in the works, Warren told The Post<\/a> he feared it was a ploy to remove him from office, since the mayor must be a resident of the village. But Mark insisted to Page Six on Friday that the heave-ho is not political.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo matter what the results of the election were, we were not going to renew,\u201d he told us, saying that Warren wanted the ability to sublease and didn\u2019t want Epley to have access to the property.<\/p>\n

As for his son\u2019s comments, Epley said Zach \u201cis not an owner of the property.\u201d Zach had previously told The Post that the purchase was purely about business \u2014 and nothing to do with the feud.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe own a few properties on Long Island, and this was just an opportunity that came up,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Warren has leased the two-bedroom pad for five years.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
