\n Gerrit Cole said he hasn\u2019t called anyone for advice prior to his Game<\/a> 1 start against the Indians in the wild-card series<\/a> on Tuesday in Cleveland.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody has played in a [coronavirus] playoffs that I recollect,\u2019\u2019 Cole said Monday while the Yankees worked out at Progressive Field.<\/p>\n

Plenty has been different about this season that was first delayed by COVID, then labor strife between MLB and the players association \u2014 and finally by wildfires on the West Coast.<\/p>\n

But on Tuesday, the postseason is set to begin.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always kind of a feeling of \u2018It\u2019s finally arrived,\u2019 \u2019\u2019 Cole said. \u201cWhether it\u2019s [after] 60 games or 162 games. It\u2019s just good to be here.\u201d<\/p>\n

At times, it didn\u2019t seem like MLB would make it, from outbreaks with the Marlins and other teams being shut down at various points of the abbreviated season.<\/p>\n

The Yankees were forced to cancel a series in Philadelphia and play an impromptu pair of games in Baltimore in July, while teams all over the majors had to adjust on the fly.<\/p>\n
