\n A black college cheerleader in Texas claims she was the victim of a \u201cswatting\u201d prank \u2014 allegedly sparked by a false report filed by her white roommates.<\/p>\n

Christin Evans, a 17-year-old freshman at Stephen F. Austin University, said cops stormed her dorm room at 3 a.m. on Sept. 14 after as many as 10 students wrongly accused her of threatening to stab others with scissors.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel shaken,\u201d Evans said during a press conference Monday with her parents and an attorney, KTRK reported<\/a>. \u201cI can\u2019t sleep at night. It has made me paranoid. I was looking forward to making friends and having a good time on the cheer team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Attorney Randall Kallinen said Evans\u2019 three white roommates and as many as seven other female students targeted Evans in act of \u201cswatting\u201d \u2014 or the filing of a false report intended to prompt an aggressive police response including a SWAT team. A resident assistant ultimately called campus police, KPRC reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis could have been a Breonna Taylor circumstance,\u201d Kallinen told reporters Monday, referencing the 26-year-old black EMT who was killed by Louisville police in March. \u201cThey had falsely accused Christin of having scissors and trying to stab people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Evans\u2019 parents cited text messages from the university\u2019s police chief indicating that surveillance video proved their daughter did nothing wrong, according to KPRC. Police later said the report was false, KTRK reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just want justice for my daughter,\u201d LaShondra Evans said. \u201cShe didn\u2019t do anything wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

Evans\u2019 parents believe the attack was racially motivated, saying the majority of the students involved are white. The teen has since been moved out of her four-student dorm suite as an investigation into the incident by university officials is ongoing.<\/p>\n

\u201cFiling a false report violates the SFA Code of Conduct and potentially violates the law as well,\u201d SFA President Scott Gordon tweeted late Monday<\/a>. \u201cThe investigation and judicial process take time \u2026 Each perpetrator will be dealt with app<\/a>ropriately.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gordon also acknowledged Evans, saying he \u201cheart goes out\u201d to the \u201cyoung lady who was an innocent victim\u201d in the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will do all we can to support her and her family through this heinous ordeal,\u201d Gordon said.<\/p>\n

John Fields, the university\u2019s chief of police, said a \u201cdiverse group of students\u201d is being investigated in connection to the false report.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe students will be held responsible for their actions at every possible level,\u201d Fields said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Evans\u2019 father, meanwhile, said he wants the university to discipline the students allegedly involved in the false report.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, we\u2019re upset and we want something to be done about it,\u201d Chris Evans said. \u201cWhen I sent my daughter off to school, my worse-case scenario was that she should call needing money or an issue with her grades.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
