Separated from them by a fence, the unknown dog attempted to reach the duo, jumping along the other side of the barrier.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox19.com\/video\/2020\/09\/29\/police-investigating-video-man-punching-dog\/\">an interview with Fox 19<\/a>, Rybak was in the process of seeking out a second leash to wrangle the unaccompanied dog when a car pulled up. A man exited the vehicle and made his way over to the dog, which\u2014as Rybak noted in a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> post\u2014seemed reluctant to go with its owner. The man then began beating his dog, which prompted Rybak to pull out her phone. <\/p>\n<p>She only captured the final moments of the incident, as the man leans down repeatedly to strike the cowering dog. <\/p>\n<p>Rybak\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sliptonrybak\/videos\/10158803469074074\">viral Facebook video<\/a>, and her subsequent call to Boynton Beach police, were instrumental in rescuing the dog from its abusive home. <\/p>\n<p>Several neighbors recognized the owner from Rybak\u2019s video, which assisted investigators in tracking him down. A Facebook post from police Monday noted that the case had been turned over to the department\u2019s animal cruelty investigator, Liz Roehrich.<\/p>\n<p>Roehrich quickly caught up to the owner, seizing custody of the abused dog for a veterinary examination. The department noted that \u201cAdi, short for Addison, a two-year-old female Pit-Lab mix,\u201d was set to remain in police custody for the duration of the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will do my absolute best to pursue justice for this innocent animal,\u201d Roehrich said. \u201cWe will always investigate acts of animal abuse and neglect in the city.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The investigator also conducted a welfare check at the man\u2019s home, to \u201censure the safety of his other animals.\u201d He owns two additional dogs, reportedly ages 11 and 13.<\/p>\n<p>Following the investigation, Roehrich found that the man\u2019s other dogs appeared well taken care of. She found no cause to remove them. Adi, however, went into police custody. Roehrich noted that the owner expressed \u201cextreme remorse\u201d when confronted with his actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdi can now look forward to finding a forever home filled with love and gentle hands,\u201d Roehrich said. Adi remains in the custody of Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control. Hopeful owners can <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/discover.pbcgov.org\/publicsafety\/animalcare\/Pages\/default.aspx\">reach out to the department<\/a> to inquire after adoption options.
