The story follows a young refugee couple from\u00a0South Sudan who moves to a\u00a0small English town and begins to experience some sort of \u201cunspeakable evil.\u201d It\u2019s a tad vague, all in the name of keeping the shocks and jolts fresh, but the\u00a0<em>His House<\/em> trailer below is plenty effective as-is.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"His_House_Trailer\"><\/span><strong>His House Trailer<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"HIS HOUSE | Official Trailer | Netflix\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DYY0QJhlXjc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post --><em>His House<\/em> premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and after watching this trailer, I\u2019m sad I missed it. Thankfully, I\u2019ll be able to see it sooner rather than later, as it\u2019s headed to Netflix at the end of October. In\u00a0<em>His House<\/em>, \u201cAfter making a harrowing escape from war-torn South Sudan, a young refugee couple struggle to adjust to their new life in a small English town that has an unspeakable evil lurking beneath the surface.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>His House<\/em> comes from writer-director\u00a0Remi Weekes, who <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.syfy.com\/syfywire\/sundance-film-festival-his-house-preview\">said<\/a> at Sundance:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFor many of us who aren\u2019t white British growing up in England, we always find ourselves torn between wanting to assimilate to fit into the primary culture and then the other side that wants to rebel and pull away from it and discover what is our place and our home. I felt that was a good starting place for this kind of story. I love <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a> and I love storytelling and always felt that if I could infuse the ideas I had growing up with the kind of movies I like, that would be the kind of space I\u2019d like to make films in.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The director added: \u201cThe two characters are from South Sudan, the Dinka tribe, so we did a lot of research into them. A lot of the ideas and myths within the film are based on the stories that are popular there. It was really fun to research. We went through the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a>s again and again in terms of language and food and just little things that will butt against British things and Britishness. I think we\u2019ve been very good in the West to sell a fantasy of what the West is and it\u2019s really convincing. For many people who come to England, they feel like, \u2018Oh, this is it!\u2019 And that\u2019s always very fascinating.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Starring <strong>Sop\u00e9 D\u00ecr\u00eds\u00f9<\/strong>, <strong>Wunmi Mosaku<\/strong>, and <strong>Matt Smith<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>His House<\/em> is headed to Netflix on <strong>October 30<\/strong>.
