\n He \u201cdid not die in vain\u201d \u2014 or at all for that matter.<\/p>\n

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday erroneously listed police-brutality victim Abner Louima among those killed by cops over the years.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s show that Mr. [George] Floyd did not die in vain,\u201d said Cuomo in an Albany press briefing, detailing steps the state is taking toward police reform since Floyd\u2019s death last month. \u201cEric Garner did not die in vain. Abner Louima did not die in vain.\u201d<\/p>\n

Louima, 53, did not die at all during his hellish 1997 ordeal in Brooklyn\u2019s 70th Precinct station house.<\/p>\n

The Haitian immigrant was being detained following a nightclub fracas when Officer Justin Volpe led him into a bathroom at the cop shop and sodomized him with a broomstick, causing severe internal damage.<\/p>\n

Volpe was among four cops brought up on charges for the sick assault. He pleaded guilty mid-trial and was sentenced to 30 years behind bars.<\/p>\n

Cuomo on Thursday app<\/a>eared to nearly cross up Louima and Amadou Diallo, an unarmed Guinean immigrant shot dead by cops outside his Bronx apartment building in 1999 while reaching for his wallet to identify himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy does this system devalue black lives?\u201d Cuomo asked during a Thursday briefing. \u201cRodney King, Abner Do\u2026 Louima, Eric Garner. Why are they always black lives who get violated by the system?\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
