OK, Lamar Jackson was an easy guess. Next.<\/p>\n

Russell Wilson? Kyler Murray? Cam Newton?<\/p>\n

Try the Giants\u2019 Daniel Jones, whose 92 yards in three game<\/a>s are more than the other five ball-carriers \u2014 injured Saquon Barkley (34), Dion Lewis (21), Devonta Freeman (10), Wayne Gallman (7) and Sterling Shepard (6) \u2014 have combined.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think this offense gives us versatility for different people to run it and run it at different looks,\u201d Jones said. \u201cWe\u2019ll continue to plan for each team. I\u2019m certainly willing to do that, and I think it\u2019s a valuable part of our offense.\u201d<\/p>\n

No one will confuse Jones with Jackson, who broke Michael Vick\u2019s single-season quarterback rushing record en route to the NFL MVP last season. But Jones used his legs at Duke \u2014 five career games with 90 or more yards on the ground \u2014 and during his rookie season, which encouraged coordinator Jason Garrett to install the run-pass read-options unveiled last week.<\/p>\n

While scouting the Buccaneers last season, Rams coach Sean McVay saw Jones rush for two touchdowns in his first career start. McVay will have his defense ready Sunday for a dual-threat quarterback.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was so impressed with his poise, his ability to make plays down the stretch, his ability to extend players,\u201d McVay said. \u201cThe athleticism \u2014 you can see it in a couple of the zone-reads the other day \u2014 but I\u2019ve also been impressed with his ability by keeping plays alive in the pocket, out of the pocket. This is a part of the league as a quarterback, but Daniel has a really bright future and I\u2019ve seen enough film of him to feel really strongly about that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Giants are averaging 12.7 points per game \u2014 second-worst in the league \u2014 and can\u2019t turn to Barkley for a trademark big-play bailout. Jones rushed for 23, 19 and 16 yards (erased by penalty) on his keepers against the 49ers but can throw on the run, too.<\/p>\n

Giants quarterbacks coach Jerry Schuplinski just drills the point to slide and avoid big hits to gain an extra yard or two.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has that ability to do it, and I think we all encourage that if he can get up or out of the pocket and make a play out there,\u201d Schuplinski said. \u201cHe\u2019s a good runner, he\u2019s fast and he does a good job with the ball when he\u2019s out in space. So that\u2019s certainly something we\u2019re encouraged about.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
