\n No topic has ever been too sensitive for \u201cSouth Park\u201d to mock \u2014 and in the Sept. 30 \u201cPandemic Special\u201d episode, the long-running animated series<\/a> had its knives out.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Pandemic Special,\u201d which is the show\u2019s 308th episode, is considered a stand-alone and is the first of its kind for the series.<\/p>\n

The kickoff to Season 24 sees the police shoot Token (the show\u2019s main Black character) and go on a rampage killing kids who are out after curfew. It also implied that Randy Marsh might be the one who spread COVID-19, since he visited China \u2014 a country that banned \u201cSouth Park\u201d after the Season 23 episode \u201cBand in China.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show\u2019s version of President Donald Trump \u2014 Mr. Garrison \u2014 is also shown refusing to take any actions to stop the virus due to the fact that many of its victims are Latinx, and he says on-screen that he \u201cmade a promise to the American people to get rid of all the Mexicans.\u201d He later prevents a cure from being released.<\/p>\n

The episode also takes aim at Disney, when it\u2019s revealed that Randy and Mickey Mouse are responsible for the virus\u2019 spread.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou made a deal with the devil when you sold your \u2018Mulan\u2019 s \u2013 \u2013 t to China!\u201d Randy says.<\/p>\n

In an unusual move for the show that relentlessly mocks everything, the episode also features two earnest moments. The first is Mr. Garrison turning to the camera and seriously imploring, \u201cBig election coming up. Don\u2019t forget to get out and vote.\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also a speech from Stan, who says, \u201cI can\u2019t take these shutdowns anymore, and I\u2019m scared what it\u2019s doing to me. I\u2019m looking for who to blame \u2014 saying I\u2019m trying to help people to make myself feel better. The truth is I just want to have fun again\u2026I just want my life back.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSouth Park\u201d has been renewed through Season 26 on Comedy Central. An air date for the remainder of Season 24 has not yet been announced. \u201cThe Pandemic Special\u201d will also stream on HBO Max 24 hours after airing.<\/p>\n
